ENGLISH YOUTH BALLET

Now in its 20th year The English Youth Ballet (EYB) has built into a highly successful youth dance company. The demand for places is expressed by the hundreds of young dancers who audition annually. Many of our students go on to vocational training having gained enormous confidence, invaluable performing experience and great pleasure from their involvement with EYB.  English Youth Ballet gives young dancers a unique opportunity to experience what life in a professional ballet company is really like. It is an exciting journey from acceptance at the audition, to classes, challenging choreography, tough rehearsals and enjoyable performances in the theatre, which mirrors exactly what a dancer in a professional company experiences.  The production of costumes, sets, lighting and stage management is fully professional. English Youth Ballet creates a traditional ballet production that is especially choreographed around the talents of the cast. Parents, Theatre Managers and Reviewers are incredulous that the performances are of such a high standard and are created within such a short period of time.

Over 20 of our pupils have successfully been awarded roles with the EYB.

SHOWS

In July 2013, we performed 'Decades of Dance' at the Festival Drayton Centre, with 3 sellout performances!

In November 2015, we participated in 'Dance Fest' as part of the Arts Festival in Market Drayton.

I WANNA DANCE FOREVER!

Oak Tree Dance Studio's inaugural production 'I Wanna Dance Forever!' took to the stage at The Festival Drayton Centre for 2 days of performances that showed all the dancers talents and left very few dry eyes in the house.

65 students aged 2.5-13 leapt, pirouetted, and tapped their way through routines choreographed by Oak Tree Teachers; 2 of the dances were a result of an in house choreography competition, which gave the students the chance to develop their creative flair.  In contrast to the classical dance styles of ballet and tap, contemporary and commercial genres were also showcased thanks to their increased popularity at the studio.

None of the shows would have been able to go ahead without the unwavering support of all parents.  Scores of dancers directed perfectly, frantic quick changes made easy, and hair well and truly sprayed solid!  We are very much a family at Oak Tree and I am so pleased Miss Zoe and I can share these wonderful experiences with such amazing, selfless people.
